Steven Allen McClanahan Sr.

Brooksville- Steven Allen McClanahan Sr., 71, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare Ft. Thomas Hospital. He was born on July 12, 1954 to the late Lossie and Nellie Frances (Konkwright) McClanahan. Steve retired in 2017 after nearly 30 years of service for Time Warner Cable (Spectrum). He was a lifelong farmer who spent many decades raising crops, working in the hay fields, tending to his cattle, and riding on his tractors. He loved science fiction movies and series, listening to classic rock songs, and spending his days at the farm with his family and pets. He'll be remembered as a hard-working and devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, co-worker and neighbor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Karen (McArter) McClanahan whom he married December 22, 1972. He is also survived by his children, Steven Allen McClanahan, Jr of Falmouth, KY, Samuel "Sam" Adam McClanahan of Falmouth, KY, and Cary Britton McClanahan of Brooksville, KY; and six grandchildren, Alayla Sims, Jackson LaFollette, Lily-Anna McClanahan, Roman Sims, Trinity Sims, and Max Sims. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Miller and two sisters, Lena Harrison and Helen Joyce Parsons.
The family will be hosting a "Celebration of Life" memorial gathering on Sunday, January 11, 2026, beginning at noon at the Kentucky Farm Bureau building located at 400 Main St. in Falmouth. All family and friends are welcomed to attend. Condolences may be sent to MooreAndParkerFh.com
