STEVEN MCINERNEY Obituary

STEVEN MCINERNEY Steven James McInerney passed away May 19, 2024 at Sunset Hospice Center, Palm Harbor, Florida Born January 24, 1951 in Duluth, Minnesota to Robert and Joan McInerney. Graduated from Two Harbors High School where he was a multisport athlete. Attended the University of Minnesota on a football scholarship and was a business major. Steve was athletic, gifted intellectually and made many friends over the years. He worked for Master Builders Corporation for 18years. He later was self employed and started his own company Hi Tech Floors. Steve enjoyed being involved with his children's activities. He coached football, baseball and served as president in the Booster Club for high school football and wrestling. For years Steve was active in faith and church based activities. Survived by his wife of 5 years Sandy; four children, Amy (David), Chad, Brian (Suzanne), and Josh (former wife Caroline) from his first marriage to Barb Ross; step daughter Denali Tufto; sister Sheryl (Bob), David, Dan (Moses); grandchildren, Andrew (Rachel), Lauren, Hanna, Mathew, Daniel, Michael, Chase, Luke, William, Thomas, Noah; great grandchild Jacob. In Lieu of flowers, memorials preferred in memory of Steve "Mac" McInerney to Grace Community Church, 2255 Nebraska Ave., Palm Harbor, Fl. 34683 to help with Mac's medical expenses.

I was a much younger cousin of Steve on his father“s side. Steve had an amazing infectious smile. I know his Aunt Teresa enjoyed his visits with his family.
