Steven Dennis Meyers

Steven "Steve" Dennis Meyers, 69, of Tucson, AZ, died Friday, September 19, 2025, at Trustwell Living at Cherryvale Place in Rockford. Born October 3, 1955, in Rockford, the son of Stanley Lewis and Carol Virginia (Gambrel) Meyers. Graduated from Winnebago High School in 1973. Steve married Judy Anderson on September 30, 1989, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Rockford. He worked as a union pipefitter at Miller Engineering and Chrysler. Steve loved the outdoors and especially canoeing, kayaking, and camping. He enjoyed hiking in Arizona and was an A-hiker. Steve had a great sense of humor.

Steve is lovingly survived by his wife, Judy; brother, Scott (Lana) Meyers of Rockford; 2 nieces and 4 nephews; aunts, Leola Meyers and Judy Engelstadt-Gambrel; many cousins and extended family. Steve was predeceased by his parents; 9 uncles and 8 aunts; and 2 cousins. The family would like to say a special thank you to St. Croix Hospice and the staff at Trustwell Living at Cherryvale Place for their care of Steve, as well as all his cousins for their support through the years, especially during the last 4.

Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church of Winnebago, 208 West Winnebago Street, Winnebago, IL 61088, with the Rev. Lisa M. López-Meyer, officiating. Burial in Winnebago Cemetery.
