Steven Ross Miller, known affectionately as Steve by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, in Lapeer, Michigan. Born on September 4, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, Steve was a man of exceptional character, known for his loving nature, intelligence, and creativity.

Steve's life was one of dedication and joy. He married his loving wife, Alice Vaught, on June 28, 1969, in Pontiac, Michigan, and together they embarked on a journey filled with love, laughter, and shared passions. Steve was a devoted father to his children, James Miller and Rachel (Patrick) King. His sister, Debi (Darell) Bain, shared many fond memories with him. He was a cherished grandfather to Drew, Mason, and Tyler King, and a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Bertha (Dargi) Miller, and his grandmother, Lillie Miller, who all held special places in his heart.

Professionally, Steve was a man of many talents. His work history and association involvement were as diverse as his interests. He was a skilled artist, with a particular love for oil painting and pen & ink, gifting many family members and friends with his masterpieces. His craftsmanship extended to building furniture, cabinets, and even houses. Steve's hands were rarely still, as he enjoyed working on his Corvette, flying remote control planes, and participating in the activities of various clubs and societies. He was an active member of the North Goodland Baptist Church in Goodland, Michigan, the Wood Turning Club in Armada, Michigan, a past member of the Lapeer Sportsman's Club, and the Eastern Michigan Hosta Society of Lapeer, Michigan, which he joined with his wife, Alice.

Above all, Steve loved his family. He relished in spending time with them, adoring every moment with his grandchildren, and embracing any adventure that came his way, especially if it was alongside his beloved Alice. His presence at family gatherings was a source of joy and comfort, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Steve's life was a testament to the power of love and the pursuit of one's passions. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched, the beautiful works he created, and the memories that will be cherished by his family and friends. His spirit will continue to inspire us, and his memory will be a beacon of love and creativity for generations to come.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life in honor of Steve will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Steve can be made to North Goodland Baptist Church. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville. Share memories, condolences, and pictures with the family at www.jansenfuneralhome.com.
