Steven Lance Nelson, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend, entered into rest on the morning of Tuesday, March 25, 2025. He was 57 years old. Born on November 6, 1967, in Washington, D.C., Steven was the son of Sandra Sessions Nelson and the late Waylon Nelson.
Steven proudly served in the United States Air Force for eight years, earning his master’s degree and later transitioning to a career in civil service. He worked as an Inspector on Robins Air Force Base for several years before his retirement.
Steven's greatest pride was his family. He was a loving father who always had the answers to life's questions. His deep love for his children was matched only by his pride in their accomplishments. Steven constantly made it known how proud he was of his family, and his support was a cornerstone for all who knew him.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Sirena Nelson; children, Dia, Derek (Tiffany), and Sean (Deisy) Nelson; stepchildren, Heather Ward, Amie Scott, and Samatha (Mitch) McLaughlin; grandchildren, Mara, Alana, and Aria Nelson; mother, Sandra Nelson; and sister, Susie (Amy) Nelson.
At the family’s request, all services held will be private.
