Donald Paul Shimp, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on April 28, 1935, in Woodbury, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Richard and Anna Dutra Shimp.

A proud veteran, Donald served his country in the United States Air Force for four years, spending time stationed in Germany. His service was just one reflection of a life lived with dedication, strength, and quiet humility.

Donald was most proud of his family. He treasured every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, never missing a sporting event, cheerleading competition, or majorette performance. His unwavering presence and support were a source of strength and pride for those he loved.

A devoted fan of New England sports, Donald cheered faithfully for the Boston Red Sox and other hometown teams. He also found great joy in the outdoors—especially fishing—and was an avid outdoorsman throughout his life.

In Massachusetts, Don was a familiar face at the Assonet Inn, a local gathering place where he shared many laughs and conversations with friends old and new.

Don leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and a life well-lived. His warmth, humor, and deep-rooted pride in his family will be remembered by all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Shimp.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Jeanne Shimp; children, Stephanie Supino (David) and Stephen Shimp (Tonisha); grandchildren, William Prentice, Charlie Shimp, Conner Law, Hunter Law, Stevie Grace Shimp, and Stephen Michael Shimp.

At the request of the family, all services will be private.
