Steven Philip Patson

Steven Philip Patson, age 69, of Cedarville, Michigan, died on January 15, 2023, at Mackinac Straits Health System in St. Ignace, Michigan. He was born on May 6, 1953, in Grayling, Michigan, to Anthony G and Edith Joan (Albright) Patson.
Steven grew up in Lewiston, Michigan until his family moved to Cedarville in 1968 and his parents owned and operated Bluewater Hotel and Restaurant. Steven graduated from Cedarville High School in 1971. After high School he started working at Tassier's Boat Works, in the early 70's, refurbishing antique boats. Steven continued working for Tassier's for ten years before he started working for Flotation Docking as a prep bay operator. Steven worked for Flotation Docking for over forty years before retiring. He met the love of his life, Dustene "Dusty" L. Stevenson in 1986, when he was grabbing lunch at the Doghouse. Steve and Dusty finally made it official and married on October 11, 2019, at their home in Cedarville.
Steven loved the outdoors, gardening, and bird hunting. He also enjoyed wood working and being on the water boating. But when he wasn't spending time in the outdoors, he could be found listening to classic rock and country, cooking masterpieces, playing spoons and the Harmonica, and taking care of his wife.
Steven is survived by his wife, Dusty Patson; sons, Tony (Pam) Patson of Traverse City, Michigan, and Ryan (Rachel Kiger) Harrison of Norton Shores, Michigan; sisters, Kathie (Sandy) Sherlund of Cedarville, and Pat (Clark) O'Brien of Cedarville; brothers, John (Marilee) Patson of Lewiston and Bob (Suzy Walker) Newell of Cedarville, Vickie Patson of Traverse City, Michigan; sister-in-law, Amy (Joe) Boik of Hessel, Michigan; brother-in-law, Philip Stevenson of Tipton, Michigan; grandchildren, Weston Urlich, Megan McMillian, Shaun Patson, and Cyrus Patson; great-grandchild, Henry; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Steven is preceded in death by his parents, "Tony" and "Joan" Patson-Newell; and father, Bob Newell; father and mother in law, Philip and Brenda Stevenson; and sister-in-law, Andrea Paquin.
A Celebration will be held on his 70th birthday, May 6, 2023, time and place to be announced.

Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Pickford, Michigan, in the future.
