Steve Picciano, 70 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey.
Born Thursday, October 29, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York, Steve was the son of Eugenia Pepi and the late Anthony Picciano.
Steve would grow up in Brooklyn before moving to Staten Island. There, he graduated from Tottenville High School. Steve would start a family in Staten Island before settling in Old Bridge in 1983.
Steve worked for many years in Restaurant Management. Most recently, he worked for Muscle Maker Grill. However, his efforts extended to many well-known chains, some even local. He worked at Beefsteak Charlies in Edison, opened the World Trade Center Burger King, and also opened the Friendly's on Ferry Road here in Old Bridge.
Steve's hobbies and interests were broad and active. He would often be seen watching baseball and football games, both on television and at the stadiums themselves. A New York native, his favorite sports teams were the New York Yankees and New York Giants. He also enjoyed golfing, and stuck to a strict regimen of working out to stay in shape. Above all, Steve enjoyed grilling and spending time surrounded by his family. In his hobbies, as well as the efforts that his work put into local establishments, his memory will live on. He will be missed by all those that love him.
Steve is survived by his beloved mother, Eugenia, by his loving children, Virginia Krompinger and her husband Scott, Jaclyn Picciano, Marie Velez and her husband Alex, Steven Picciano, and Chris Picciano, by his caring siblings, Anthony, John, and Christine, and by his cherished grandchildren, Jake, Christian, and Anthony James, and by his previous wives and mothers of his children, Margaret and Micheline.
The family will receive friends for a celebration of Steve's life from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
