Steven Pollock Obituary

Steven Van Pollock, 64, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on August 9, 2025 after a nearly 30 year battle with Parkinson's.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and raised in Harrison, Ohio, Steve was a standout athlete at William Henry Harrison High School, where his excellence on the basketball court earned him a place in the school's Hall of Fame. He went on to play four years of collegiate basketball at Northern Kentucky University, where he majored in Business.

Steve built his career in sales and management at Lantech Inc. His true passions were faith, family, and sports. A devoted follower of Christ, Steve loved the Lord deeply and shared his faith with others, leading many to know Him. He married his high school sweetheart, Tammy, and together they raised three children - Michelle, Steven "Adam," and Marissa - filling their home with love, laughter, and unwavering support.

An avid golfer, Steve enjoyed countless rounds with his brothers, father and family, proudly (and playfully) claiming to be the best golfer in the family. He was also dedicated to coaching and mentoring young athletes, serving as the basketball commissioner and coaching youth teams for the Middletown Recreational Association for many years and coaching freshman basketball at Christian Academy of Louisville. Whether as a coach, a father on the sidelines, or a friend in the stands, Steve gave his time and heart to encourage others.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Tammy; mother, Shirley Pollock; brother, Charlie (Fran) Pollock; sister, Vickie (Mark) Jellison; brother, Roger (Pat) Pollock; daughter, Michelle (Rob) Schneidtmiller and grandchildren Callen, Ellie, and Emma; son, Steven "Adam" (Jessica) Pollock and grandchildren Ethan, Hannah, and Christopher; and daughter, Marissa (Derek) Cruise and grandchildren Everlee and Brexlee.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Leo Pollock.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday from 2-3pm at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home, East Shelbyville Road location, with a visitation to follow from 3-7pm.

Steve will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his devotion to his family, his love of sports, and his ability to brighten any room with a smile or a joke.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations to The Parkinson's Foundation (KY chapter) or to Hosparus Health:
