Mr. Steven Pope was born on July 21,1961 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the union of the late Horace Pope, Sr and Mary Pope. He was the second of three created by this union.
Steven received his formal education from Wichita Falls ISD. He was a star track and field athlete at Rider High School where he graduated in 1981.
He married Wanda Vaughn in 1981 and from their union a beautiful daughter was born, NaTesla Pope in 1982.
Steven accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. R. L. Castle, where he was a member of the youth and junior choirs.
Mr. Pope was a diligent worker. His hard work and dedication lead to him receiving the Associate of The Year Award during his tenure at National Linen.
Steven went home to live eternally in Heaven on December 9,2024. He will be greeted at Heaven's Gates by his parents Horace Pope, Sr and Mary Pope, his sister Phyllis Marie Pope, and granddaughter Natavia Pope.
He is survived by daughter, NaTesla Pope, Wichita Falls, TX; grandsons, Quintavion Pope and Messiah Pope; brother, Horace Pope Jr, The Colony; bonus mother, Evelyn Pope, Wichita Falls, TX; nieces and nephews, Tenesha (Jeremy Sr) Yates, Aubrey, TX; Tiara Roberson, Edmond, Ok; Horace Pope III, Dallas, TX; Kira White, The Colony, TX ; Tamara White, Keller, TX; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, close friends, and church family.
