John "Skip" A. Johnson, Jr., 67, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Skip was born on August 21, 1957 at Nellis A.F.B., Las Vegas, Nevada.

He graduated from Burkburnett High School in 1975 and enlisted in the United States Air Force for four years. Over the years, Skip lived in Texas and Florida where he raised his family and ran his own business, before eventually settling in Tennessee and working in the commercial HVAC industry. Through his marriage to Beth, he became a proud stepfather and embraced that role wholeheartedly.

Skip was known for his kind heart, sharp wit and great sense of humor, he loved making people laugh and could brighten any room he entered. He also had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles, shared his life with many pets, most dearly his poodle, Gidget Rhea, and enjoyed the game ofbilliards, where his skill earned him numerous tournament trophies.

Skip leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Elizabeth Ann (Young) Johnson of Tennessee; parents, John and Irma Johnson of Texas; two brothers, David and Steven of Texas; his children, Jason of Tennessee, Anissa, Jenna and John Cole of Texas; step-son, Dustin Hames of Tennessee; twelve grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He also leaves behind many close friends, aunts, and uncles.

Skip will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He worked hard all of his life until his health required him to retire, yet he never lost his humor or his ability to bring joy to others. His laughter, jokes, and lighthearted spirit will live on in the memories of those who loved him.
'

We will gather in Nashville, Tennessee, to celebrate his life; details will be shared at a later date.

For those desiring, the family suggests memorials be made in honor of Skip to the American Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
