Steven A. Quackenbush

Mr. Steven A. Quackenbush, age 67, of 425 N. Bellinger St., Herkimer passed away Friday afternoon, Feb. 3, 2023 at MVHS, New Hartford Campus, with the love and support of his wife, by his side.
He was born on March 3, 1955 in Cambridge, NY son of the late Francis and Doris (Bain) Quackenbush and educated in Cambridge schools. He furthered his education attending SUNY Potsdam receiving a BA degree in Theater. He was united in marriage with Cynthia M. Vetrone on Oct. 20, 1990 in Rome, NY, a devoted union of 32 years. Steve worked for many years for WYBG radio, Massena, NY, earning a large following as a DJ. He was active in community theater, acting and directing at Seaway Valley Footlighters in Massena and later at the Ilion Little Theater. Steve loved watching movies and spending time with his friends.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia of Herkimer; his siblings, Charlotte Morris of Cambridge, Ruby Boyton of Arlington, VT and John Quackenbush of Greenwich, NY; nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Charles Quackenbush and Richard Quackenbush and by his sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Chan Butler of Arlington, VT.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, Little Falls (corner of Bidleman Road), 315-508-5131. A memorial service will take place at MVFC on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023 commencing at 2 pm, where memories and stories will be shared. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the funeral home on Saturday from 12pm-2 pm, prior to the service. Burial will be private.
