Steven Neil Redford passed away on March 1, 2025, surrounded by his wife and children from a short fight with throat cancer, pneumonia, and dementia.
He was born to James William Redford, Jr. and Lillian Schmidt Redford on November 19, 1951 and spent the majority of his life in Layton, Utah. He is survived by 4 sisters and 3 brothers and has joined 2 sisters and 1 brother in the hereafter. He loved and was so proud of each of them. He cherished spending time with them and his parents.
He married his sweetheart Jaylene Cheever in the Ogden Utah temple on March 28, 1980. He cherished and was devoted to her for nearly 45 years. They have four perfect children and ten grandchildren. He adored every one of them.
He was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved the Gospel and his Savior. He devoutly served in every capacity he was asked to the best of his ability.
Steve loved sports and was a great athlete before his declining years and especially enjoyed playing football and softball. He remained an avid sports fan to the end.
Music was Steve's best therapy, and he would spend hours immersed in his vast vinyl and CD collections, a trait he passed on to his children and grandchildren.
He also enjoyed the outdoors, shooting, fishing, animals, walks, family parties, and their dogs Butch and Ella.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Jaylene, and his children and their families: Brent (Liz), Chrystal (Ethan), Kent (Jessica); and grandkids Annika, Brinley, Tawnya, Jack, Wyatt, Jane, Emery, Payton, Alex, and Asenna.
