Steven M. Schmidt, age 72 (b. 12-12-1952 D. 05-08-2025) Son of Laurence L.
Schmidt and Mary T. ( Schimek) Schmidt. Brother of the late Anne (Schmidt)
Hetman, Larry P. Schmidt and Linda (Zagroba) Schmidt. Uncle to Chris (Schmidt)
Nay, Vicki (Schmidt) Plein, Lisa (Zagroba) Thompson and Joseph Zagroba.
Steve passed away after a long battle with heart disease and diabetes at Weiss
Hospital.
He attended St. Andrew Elementary School and Gordon Tech high school. He
graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in education. He
worked at Kilmer elementary school for many years.
In lieu of flowers send donations to the American Heart Associations.
A visitation will be held on Thursday May 22 from 9AM to 12noon at Cooney
Funeral Home located at 625 Busse Hwy. in Park Ridge. Short service will be at
Cooney Funeral Home, following visitation. Then internment at Mary Hill
