Steven Wayne Shuler, 76, was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on March 27, 1948, to the late, Laverl and Margaret (Edwards) Shuler. He passed away on February 23, 2025, in Greenwood, Indiana.
Steve was a graduate of Ben Davis High School, class of 1966. He was married to Sharon Kay Graves, on February 3, 1968, in St. Joseph, Michigan; they recently celebrated 57 years of marriage. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged, in March 1971. Steve was a retiree of General Motors having spent most of his career at Allison's Plant 8, in Indianapolis. He received an associate degree from Vincennes University, in 1995. Steve spent most of his time with friends, family, and at the gun range. He was a dedicated grandfather attending as many of his grandchildren's activities as possible (dance, soccer, and horseback riding).
Steve is survived by his wife, Sharon (Graves) Shuler; son Scott (Sherry) Shuler; daughter Stephanie (Rick) Burks; five grandchildren: Shelby Burks, Kelsey Burks, Isabel Burks, Sam Shuler, and Gabrielle Shuler; and his sister, Judith Morehead.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Laverl and Margaret (Edwards) Shuler.
A celebration of life will be held at The Sycamore at Mallow Run, located at 7070 West Whiteland Road, Bargersville, IN., on Friday, March 14th from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Food and drink will be provided. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 11550 N Meridian St, Carmel, IN 46032, in Steven's name. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jessen Funeral Home & Simple Cremation, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N. U.S. Hwy. 31 Whiteland, IN. 46184.
