Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Steven Donzie Stanley, age 52, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 5:00PM-Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Rev. Billy Olsen and Rev. Sherwood Lassiter will officiate. During the Celebration of Life, there will be a time for you to briefly share a story in remembrance of Steven.
Steven was born on May 12, 1972, in Johnston County, NC. He was preceded in death by his father, Donzie Ray Stanley, beloved dogs, Rattler and Dillard. A 1991 graduate of South Johnston High School, he received his plumbing license and was the owner and operator of Steven Stanley Plumbing, LLC in Four Oaks, NC. Steven was a member and the current president of the Classic Antique Power Club, a non-profit organization based around preserving our agricultural history through antique farm equipment. His favorite tractor was John Deere. He loved, and was very instrumental in organizing the annual Classic Antique Power Farm Heritage Festival held in Benson, NC each year. Steven loved Benson, NC, and Four Oaks, NC, and was always ready to help with Benson Mule Days, from plumbing campsites, working at the Chamber Park, helping with the parade, or anything the Chamber of Commerce needed him to do. He never would charge for any work done at the Chamber Park. Steven will be greatly missed; however, his legacy will always continue on.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Becky Lawrence Stanley; mother, Jean Capps Stanley; brother, Shelton Stanley both of Four Oaks, NC; nephews, Johnathan Stanley and wife, April and Eric Stanley, and wife, Brittany; great-nieces, Chesney, Moriah, Anna; beloved dog, Scruggs; and many friends.
The family will receive friends immediately following the Celebration of Life Service on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, however, memorials may be made to Red Barn Rescue 1577 Shotwell Road, Clayton NC 27520, or to the SECU Hospice House PO Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577.
