Steven B. "Steve" Vernon, 58, of Sutton, died unexpectedly on Friday, September 8, 2023 at his home.
He leaves his daughter and best friend, Shannon E. Vernon, and her loving partner Ken, of Suamico, WI; his father, Leonard Yursha, of Sutton; his siblings, Michelle, Kevin, Nicole, Scott, and Melissa; along with many nieces and nephews. Steve was predeceased by his beloved mother, Linda Mae (Wennerberg) Vernon; his sister, Kristen Stowe; and his infant brother, Mark Vernon.
Steve was born in Worcester, and raised and educated in Sutton. He graduated from Sutton Memorial High School, then attended Worcester State College.
In his younger years, he worked as a chef at Publick House in Sturbridge, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Most recently, Steve worked for Molex and Tempflex, as a Lab Technician creating gold and platinum wire. Whatever career path he found himself on, Steve was always fearless in all his endeavors.
His passions included reading, especially Russian literature (just for fun!), learning and sharing his wealth of knowledge, and cooking – among his favorite dishes were Beef Wellington and homemade Chinese food. Steve had a brilliant mind, and was a lifelong student. Above all else, his family, his cats, and his bloodhound, Poodle, were his world.
No services will be held at this time. The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
