Steven H. Walter, age 73, of New Oxford, passed away at home on July 30, 2025. He was the loving husband of the late Judith A. (Klunk) Walter who passed away on June 19, 2014; together they shared 42 years of marriage.

Steven was born in Gettysburg, PA on February 24, 1952 and was the son of the late Edwin and Mary (Millhimes) Walter. He graduated from Gettysburg Area High School and worked for HPC Global in Hanover for 35 years. Steven was a life member of the New Oxford Social Club and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Basilica in Hanover. He also enjoyed classic cars and was able to fix anything and everything for his family and friends who he cared deeply about.

Steven is survived by his sons Jeremy Walter and wife Julia and Jesse Walter; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Patrice Schaff, Tomas Walter, Edwin Walter, and William Walter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded in death by his sons Jason Walter and Chad Walter; and his sister Debra Hoffman.

A Catholic Funeral Service in celebration of Steven's life will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025 at 11:00AM at Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, PA 17344 with Rev. Dwight D. Schlaline, Pastor of Sacred Heart Basilica, officiating. Interment will be held privately at Conewago Chapel Cemetery in Hanover. A viewing will be held on Monday from 10:00AM – 11:00AM prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Steven's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
