Stuart Michael Walker, 58, of Middletown, passed away peacefully at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville on December 18, 2025. He was born in New Castle on February 5, 1967, to the late Arch Walker and Opal (Williams) Smith.
A proud graduate of Shenandoah High School, class of 1986, Stuart devoted his life to the things he cherished most: his family, history, and the joy of good storytelling.
Stuart was well-known for his captivating tales, often drawing on his rich appreciation for history and family ancestry. He delighted in sharing these stories with his loved ones, creating lasting memories. His passion for the past harmonized beautifully with his fondness for old movies and the timeless music of The Rolling Stones.
Stuart was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and he had a particular fondness for dogs. A creative individual, he also enjoyed baking, sharing his culinary creations with those he held dear, often accompanied by the laughter and love of family gathered around.
Stuart's legacy is enriched by the values instilled in him by his father, a World War II veteran, which shaped his character and the kindness he shared with others. He leaves behind fond memories of a life that celebrated family bonds and cherished moments.
Those left to cherish his memory include his soulmate, Kathleen McGinnis; his siblings, John E. Walker, Kathy (Doug) Nagel, and Kristi Strother; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Stuart was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Ellen Walker and his niece, Jennifer Walker.
A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Ambassadors for God’s Creatures at 702 West 8th St. Anderson, IN 46016 or to the Stuart M. Walker Memorial Fund here.
