Sudhir "Steve" Gilotra

The Gilotra family is heartbroken to announce the passing of Sudhir "Steve" Gilotra, age 72 on December 18, 2025. He was the son the late Shri Uttam Chand Gilotra & the late Shubh Devi Gilotra, born in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. Known affectionately to many as 'Steve', he built a life rooted in hard work, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to family, friends, and community.

Sudhir spent the majority of his working life in the pest control industry and was the proud owner of Excel Pest Control serving the Greater New Orleans area. He was deeply respected for his integrity, reliability, and genuine care for his customers, always prioritizing their satisfaction and happiness. His work was not just a profession, but a reflection of who he was-someone who showed up, did the right thing, and treated everyone with respect.

Above all else, Sudhir lived a life guided by positivity and forgiveness, with the elevation and well-being of his family always at the forefront of his mind. He loved his friends wholeheartedly and formed lasting connections everywhere he went. He had a rare ability to make people feel valued, and as a result, he was truly loved by everyone he met.

Sudhir is survived by his children Shivas Gilotra & Shivani Simmons, respectively married to Joshna Patel and Robert Simmons along with his grandchildren, Emma and Dillon Patel and Logan Simmons, and brother Liam Simmons, expected in February 2026. He was preceded in death by his son, Shakti Gilotra, who passed away in 2021. He is also survived by his children's mother and life companion, Madhu Gilotra.

A viewing and Traditional Hindu prayer will be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home at 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001 on December 21, 2025 at 11:30am.
