Princeton-Sudie Worley Baker, 84, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born in Johnston County on April 21, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Alston and Sudie Creech Worley.
In addition to her parents, Sudie was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny A. Baker; son, Timothy Westbrook; granddaughter, Nicole Westbrook; sisters, Jean Wiggs and Janice Worley; and her faithful canine companion, Fat Cow.
Sudie is survived by her daughter, Teresa Boyd; grandsons, Chad Westbrook and wife, Elizabeth and Brandon Boyd; great-grandsons, Chase Westbrook, Tyler Westbrook, and Malakhi Boyd; and great-great-grandson, Timothy River Westbrook.
Sudie lived a life marked by compassion, devotion, and an unshakable belief in God's grace. To know Sudie was to know kindness - she had a heart of gold and a spirit that shone brightly in every act of love and care she gave to others. No matter the circumstance, Sudie stood by her family with open arms and an open heart. Her loyalty and unconditional love were constants that anchored those she cherished most.
A devout Christian, Sudie's faith guided her every step. She found strength and peace in God's Word, reading her Bible daily and studying its lessons with deep devotion. She rarely missed a chance to worship, often tuning in to church services on television and finding joy in hearing the message of God's love and salvation.
Sudie's life was a beautiful reflection of her faith - selfless, giving, and filled with compassion. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the love she shared so freely.
A service to celebrate Sudie's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Princeton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
