Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Sudie Louise Landry, 74, who passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Carl Comeaux, with Drum Beat Disciples Ministry, will officiate the ceremony.
Visitation hours will be observed on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Walters Funeral Home.
Sudie is survived by one daughter, Dondi Vedalier and her husband Patrick; two sons, Toby Landry and his wife Debbie, and Kory Landry; three sisters, Dianne Sillman, Pamela Rochester, Mary Rabalais; three brothers, Donnie Irby, David Irby, and Chad Irby; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna Fitts and Rodney Irby; one son, Coby Landry; one sister, Rose Elliot; and one brother, Sonny Irby.
Born in Natchez, Mississippi, Sudie lived in Lafayette most of her life. She was a retired hairdresser, and a member of AOC and the Writers Guild of Acadiana, where she served as President.
