Sue Allmon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rooks Funeral Home - Byron on Oct. 25, 2024.
Sue Lowe Allmon, 78, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 24, 2024. Services will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, in the Family Life Center of Byron Heritage Church, 103 West Heritage Boulevard in Byron, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM and funeral services at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in Prosperity Cemetery in Rupert. Family may be contacted at the home of Jason and Heather Allmon, 270 Red Oak Road in Byron.
Born in Atlanta to the late John Edwin Lowe and Loy May Alexander Lowe, Sue retired after 20 years as a bookkeeper with The Salvation Army, worked at the Byron Drugstore, and volunteered with the Peach Ladies at Peach Regional Medical Center. She had served as a Brownie leader, even though her children were both boys. She was a longtime member of Byron United Methodist Church, now Byron Heritage Church, and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was active in the Byron community and loved to sew and crosstich. She was devoted to her family and adored her grandchildren. Her happiest times were spent with her boys.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Jerry G. Allmon; their sons, Grey Allmon (Carolee) and Jason Allmon (Heather); grandsons, Malry Allmon II, Greggory Allmon, and Linden Allmon; a sister, Vicki Lowe Davis (George); a niece, Alexandria Janke (Todd); and a multitude of friends. She is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Edwin Lowe.
In lieu of flowers, family respectfully requests donations to Byron Heritage Church, P O Box 6, Byron, GA 31008, or to The Salvation Army (salvationarmyusa.org). Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is in charge of arrangements.
