Sue Floyd Laughton, 83, of Morehead City, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025, surrounded by her family at the Crystal Coast Hospice House of Newport.
A lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Beaufort, Sue was deeply committed to her faith and community. She was an active member of the Women's Missionary Union (WMU), where she dedicated her time and energy to supporting missions and outreach efforts. Her devotion extended beyond the church walls through her volunteer work with the local food ministry, where she helped provide nourishment and support to those in need.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 14, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Beaufort. Burial will follow at Bayview Cemetery in Morehead City. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00pm on Friday at the church.
She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Barefoot and husband, Kevin of Newport; son, Justin Laughton of Wilmington; grandson, Noah Barefoot of Newport; nephew, David Robin Floyd of New Bern.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hattie Floyd; brother, David James Floyd; and her husband, John Raymond Laughton.
