Susan Brander November 27, 1947 – January 6, 2025 Central Valley, NY
Susan Brander passed away on January 6, 2025, at Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood, NJ. She was 77 years old. Daughter of the late Alfred and Ruth (Deutsch) Goldfarb, she was born in Elizabeth, NJ, on November 27, 1947.
Susan was the Administrative Director for the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum in Cornwall, NY. She was also a member of the Women's American ORT at the Monroe Temple and for several years, she was on the Cornwall Fourth of July Committee.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Stephan Brander, of Central Valley, NY; daughter, Amy Brander, of Harriman, NY; grandchildren, Justin and Alex; niece, Jennifer Hudson, of Santa Clarita, CA; and grand nephews, Dylan and Nathaniel. In addition to her parents, Susan was also predeceased by her beloved son, Adam Brander, and her sisters, Elaine Mandel and Lois Goldfarb.
Susan is also survived by her niece, Allison Giampietro, and her husband Frank, and nephew, Rob Mandel, and his wife Jackie.
The family will receive family and friends from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe, NY 10950. Interment will follow at Cemetery of The Highlands, in Highland Mills, NY.
Shiva will be observed at the family's home from January 12th through January 14th. Sunday's hours will be from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. Monday and Tuesday's hours will be from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
