Susan Marie Driggers, 85, of Lake City, passed away on Sunday evening, April 6, 2025 at the HCA Florida – Lake City Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Daytona Beach, Florida on April 4, 1940 and had made Lake City her home since 1959, moving here from Palatka and was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She worked for many years with the USDA ASCS Office as an Administrative Assistant and in her spare time, enjoyed spending time with her family and doing everything with them, tending to her farm and helping those in need. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harley Randall Driggers, Sr. in 2000, and her mother, Helen Thompson in 1999.
She is survived by her son and daughter, Randy Driggers (Anna) and Rhonda Ward (William); along with her four grandchildren, Cole Ward, Cody Ward (Jobeth), Sara Beierlein and Alex Pangio, along with five great-grandchildren; cousin, Linda Abercrombie (Michael); and sister-in-law's, Nita D. Armstrong (Richard) and Viola D. George (the late Harris George) along with numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service for Mrs. Driggers will be conducted on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Mr. Charlie Parnell and Mr. Adam George officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 PM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to the Mt. Olive Cemetery Association.
