Susan Madine Elrod, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024, in Lula, Georgia. Born on March 30, 1964, in Maysville, Georgia, she brought joy and warmth to all who had the privilege to know her.
Susan dedicated a significant part of her life to her work as a Poultry Worker with McCoy Farms, where she demonstrated a strong work ethic and commitment to her job. Her career was a testament to her tenacity and resilience, traits that defined her both personally and professionally.
She is survived by her beloved mother, Nora Hooper Brock, her cherished sons, Justin Elrod, and Anthony (Crystal) Brock. Susan was also a proud grandmother to Andy Brock, Jacob Brock, Naomi Brock, and Eliza Elrod. Her legacy continues through her siblings: Kenneth Brock, Ricky Brock, James (Susan) Brock, Chris Brock, Michael Keith, Brenda (Michael) Carlan, and Karen (Stevie) Jones.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, Ed Brock, whose love and guidance she carried with her throughout her life.
A visitation will be held in her honor on October 29, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Ivie Funeral Home located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, Georgia. This will be followed by a funeral service on October 30, 2024, commencing at 2 PM, also at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Charity Baptist Church Cemetery, Homer, GA.
Susan’s spirit will be profoundly missed, but her love and influence will continue to resonate within her family and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family will gather at the home of Karen Jones.
