Susan F. Gapinski, a cherished wife, sister, mother and booshie, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, in South Bend, IN, surrounded by her loving family. She was 67 years old. Born on February 15, 1958, Sue attended and graduated from St Joseph High School. She then worked at the local post office working her way up to assistant plant manager. In her retirement, she spent time with her children and grandchildren going to sporting events, school concerts, and swimming in their pool. Sue loved hosting people for cookouts and spending time with loved ones. In her later years she found a love for completing puzzles and made sure all her grandchildren received a crocheted baby blanket. Above all, she was a proud mother, wife, and Booshie, cherishing every moment spent with her children and nine grandchildren, who brought endless joy into her life. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Vince and Adeline (Ruskowski) Koziatek, her husband Tom Gapinski and her daughter, Kelly (Carl) Winkel. She is lovingly survived by her daughter Kaity (Joe) Ta; sons Chris (Karen) Gapinski, Kenny (Hanny) Gapinski, and her treasured grandchildren; brothers Norm (Kaye) Koziatek, John (Tari) Koziatek, and sister Sandy (Nancy) Koziatek, as well as many nieces and nephews. Sue leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and cherished memories. Sue was a pillar of strength for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday October 13th at St Anthony De Padua Church at 1pm. Memorial Contributions can be made to the family on the go fund me page that was set up for Tom at https://gofund.me/3598467b0
