Susan B. Goetschius, 82, of Bomoseen Vermont, formerly of Watervliet, NY, Wynantskill, NY, and Ramsey NJ, passed away after a brief illness on August 25, 2025 surrounded by her three children.
Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Esther Brimmer. She was a graduate of Ramsey High School and received her Bachelors in Nursing from Virginia Intermont, Bristol VA. Sue's nursing career included working in the obstetrician, gynecologist, ophthalmology, and hospice fields.
She was an Elder, Deacon, and a member on the pastoral care team at Brunswick Presbyterian Church in New York. When she retired, she volunteered her time in hospice helping families.
Survivors include her two daughters, Debbie Goetschius (Glen Henaire) of Latham, NY and Nancy Baker (Andy Baker) Ridgway, PA and her son, Brad Goetschius, Aberdeen NJ; two granddaughters Cadence and Carly Baker and an older brother Michael Brimmer, Staunton, VA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was married to her high school sweetheart, Wesley Goetschius who passed on January 2, 2001.
Over the course of her life, Sue enjoyed sewing, reading, vacationing in Captiva Island, and spending time with her family and friends at Lake Bomoseen, one of her favorite places to live life.
Sue was known for her whit, compassion, love for animals, sense of humor, fun, tenacity, spunk, and a fighter for those who didn't have a voice, a wonderful Mother and Grandmother.
A service will take place at Brunswick Presbyterian Church, 42 White Church Lane, Brunswick NY 12180
On September 20, 2025 at 10 am with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to made VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region, Rutland, VT.
