A gentle soul, Susie Hale, met her Creator on Aug. 17, 2025 in Waynesville NC. She was born Susan Elaine Hale in Birmingham, AL on Oct. 15, 1953 to her parents W.D. (Chuck) and Marian Hale. Her early years were spent at Bluff Park Elementary School and Berry High School. With her free spirit, her further education included a Master's degree in counseling and her career path was met with several roles: Montessori teacher, licensed massage therapist (including myofascial release), natural health teacher and licensed professional counselor. Her working career led her to Florida, California and North Carolina where she enjoyed many adventures.
Susie was a very sensitive soul. The life she chose was selfless and always giving, putting others first and showing unconditional love without judgement. She exuded a vibrance and energy that was infectious to others. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of her family and many friends.
She is survived by her spouse, Wendy Arthur, two sisters - Priscilla Beth and Terry Standridge (Jack), brother - Doug Hale (Linda), nephew Jim Coman (Jesse), two nieces – Melissa Coman and Holly Hale, great nephew - Jeremy Coman, great niece – Chloe Coman (Ian) and great grandniece, August Coman. There are a multitude of friends and co-workers who were touched by her over her
lifetime.
Susie's wishes were that any memorials be made to https://www.magiccityacceptancecenter.org in lieu of flowers.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in the Memorial Chapel at Lake Junaluska on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at 2 PM followed by an ice cream social.
