Susan "Murzy" Wooten Howell, 77, of Rossville went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. She was a native of Rossville, GA and had lived most of her life in the North Georgia area. She was a member of the Redemption to the Nations Church. Her passions in life were God; her family; traveling to Gatlinburg. During her life, she played piano and sang Gospel music. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Cecil B. and Lenell Wooten; her husband of 45 years, Terry Howell; and her brother, William C. Wooten.

Survivors include two children, Tara Howell Henry (L.P. Phillips) of Tullahoma, TN, and Daniel (Melissa) Howell of Rossville; grandchildren, Carlee (Keith) Sikes, Daniel (Bethany) Skipper, Tyler (Maleea) Henry, MaKayla (Robert) Tucker, Jordan (Destiny) Henry, Landon Henry, Madison (Addison) Teague, and Reagan Henry; 15 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Sharron (John) Narinesingh and Debra (Steve) Dunwoody; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 25, 2025, at 11:00a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastors Rick Smith, Matt Johnson and Pam Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 24, from 3-7p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
