Susan Lynn (Wiles) Janosko
October 24, 1956 - August 10, 2025
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we announce the passing of Susan "Susie" Lynn Janosko, 68, of Pittsburgh PA, on August 10, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born on October 24, 1956, in Sharon, PA, Susie was the beloved daughter of Richard and Peggy Wiles. On July 5, 1975, she married her high school sweetheart, Paul Anthony Janosko, beginning a beautiful love story that spanned more than five decades. Together they built a life full of laughter, adventure, and deep devotion.
Susie was a proud and loving mother to Lisa (Tom) Janosko Uhler and Lori (Donnie) Janosko Caldarelli, and the best "Grandma" to Ali Janosko, Dustin Caldarelli, Samantha Uhler, and Tori Uhler. Her family was her heart, and she poured herself into every role she held - daughter, sister, cousin, wife, nurse, mom, grandma, friend, and mentor.
She is survived by her sister Patty (Michael) Bears and brother Randy (Ann) Wiles, as well as many brother and sister in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who became like family. She was preceded in death by her brothers Robert and Dicky Wiles.
Susie's life was a testament to compassion. A nurse for over 40 years - and later Director of Operations for a home care agency - she specialized in geriatrics and touched countless lives with her kindness and dedication. She went above and beyond for her patients, organizing haunted houses, amusement park outings, and other creative events that brought joy to those in her care.
Outside of work, Susie's zest for life was unmatched. She was passionate about traveling and discovering hidden gems on her "grandma adventures" - snapping photos at quirky roadside stops, visiting zoos, museums, theaters, and the aviary. As a Carnegie Museum Premium member for more than 20 years, she made sure her friends and family enjoyed the arts as much as she did, and insisted on getting the best seats in the house.
She loved spending time at Plantation Park Campers Association, where she was an active member and avid volunteer. She was the long-time chairperson of the Youth Committee, planning events for children right up until her last days. The park is planning on naming the Youth Center after her in remembrance. More recently, she embraced her role as a snowbird, wintering at Topics RV Park in Florida.
Susie was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, a Halloween enthusiast with the best costumes and decorations (often with themes for the grandkids), and the best mom and grandma who served as PTA president, basketball coach, and cheerleader for every endeavor her kids and grandkids took on.
She and Paul just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with about 225 guests in attendance- a milestone that reflected not just time, but the kind of enduring love that inspired everyone who knew them.
Susie was truly one of a kind - vibrant, giving, fun, and full of life. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit, her laughter, and her love will live on in all of us.
Per her wishes, she will be cremated, with a memorial service to honor the incredible woman she was on Wednesday, August 20th at John Flynn Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. located at 2630 East State Street in
Hermitage, PA.
