Susan "Susie" C. Kahler, age 78, formerly of Canton passed away Friday, January 10, 2025 while at Arbors of Minerva over the past three years. She was born October 10, 1946 and was raised in Canton by her parents, the late, Harold A. and Ruby M. (Heiks) Kahler. She was a 1965 graduate of McKinley High School and worked many years for The Workshops at Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Susie had been a member of Greenwood Christian Church and was in the Fellowship Bible Class.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, William A. Kahler and a sister, Barbara Neumann.
She is survived by three nieces, Janet Stephen, June Kelley and Lynne Tamburelli and their families and cousins who looked after her, Susan Heiks and her deceased husband, Barry Heiks.
The Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Reed Funeral Home CANTON Chapel. There will be one hour of calling hours on Friday from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the funeral home. She will be buried in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Aultman Foundation for their hospice program or to Greenwood Christian Church.
