Susan Boss Mathern passed away unexpectedly, August 5, 2023. She was 64 years old. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 5:30 PM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. A visitation will take place one hour prior between the hours of 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM.
Susan was born May 2, 1959 in Oxford, England to the late John Henry Boss and Mary Louise Sikes Boss. She met and married a US serviceman which brought her to the United States. Her love for the United States was expressed in her occupational service to local veterans at the American Legion. Everyone knew her and was delighted to see her smiling face when visiting. Aside from her commitment to the American Legion, she was devoted to her family. Her children and grandchildren were the apple of her eye and they will dearly miss her every day.
She is survived by her fiancé, Jerry Clardy, children: Suzanne Sappington and Kelly Boss; grandchildren: Kayla, Brandon, Alexis, Khloe and Ethan; sibllings: Alan Boss, Kevin Boss, David Boss, Richard Boss and Kenneth Boss (all of Oxford, England) and a host of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made toward the funeral expenses. You may call Heritage Memorial Funeral Home to make a donation at 478-329-1400.

We welcomed Susan into our family 19 years ago. There has been numerous family gathering that we made fond memories. I especially love Susan for the family life that she spent with my brother Jerry. Susan, you will surely be missed. Rest in peace Sweetie, you are out of pain. Love you, Judy & Don Williams.
