Susan Jane Miedema, age 73, of Lake Mary, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025. Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on June 9, 1952, Susan lived a life filled with kindness and compassion, touching the hearts of countless individuals throughout her years.

Susan dedicated over 25 years of her career to the field of education, serving as an administrative assistant. Her commitment to her work and her friendly spirit made her a beloved member of the educational community. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor's Degree, which paved the way for a fulfilling professional journey dedicated to enhancing the lives of students and educators alike.

Known for her warmth and positivity, Susan's friendly nature earned her the title of "the best friend" to many. Those who had the privilege of knowing her often celebrated her kindness and the love she shared with everyone she met. Her compassion extended beyond her human relationships, as she was a devoted animal lover, often rescuing dogs and cats, bringing joy and shelter to those in need.

In addition to her love for animals, Susan cherished her experiences traveling, particularly enjoying cruises that allowed her to explore new horizons. As a mother, Susan took immense pride in raising her son, Scott, and was eagerly looking forward to becoming a grandmother, a role she anticipated with great joy.

Susan is survived by her loving husband, Herman Miedema; her son, Scott (Yani) Montgomery; her step-children, Kristen (Devin) Legge, Michelle (Kyle) Cole, Karen Phillips, Kristen (Jay) Destout, and Greg Montgomery.

A memorial service to honor Susan will take place on October 17, 2025, at Markham Woods Presbyterian Church in Lake Mary, Florida, beginning at 11:00 AM.
