Susan J. Nimmo, 82, of Chillicothe, passed at 12:46 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2024 in the Adena Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 24, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio to the late John and Carrie Skiver Mielke. Suzie, known to all as grandma, loved the Lord and everyone she met. She had a fulfilling career as a teacher at Ross County Head Start, where she loved and cared for many many children, just as she had for her family.
She will always be remembered for her big hugs and loving affection, being a faithful servant to the Lord, and being our rock in troubled waters.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Fred Nimmo, of Chillicothe; granddaughter, Carrie (Kevin) Fischer; great grandchildren, Brennen, Laine and Ian Fischer, Caden, Ava and Addie Gumm and Maylee and Reed Hines; a great great granddaughter, Carter Hines; a brother, John (Lynn) Mielke, of Grove City; and a sister, Sandra (Patrick) O'Malley, of Columbus. She was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce A. Nimmo; grandchildren, John Hines and Sarah Gumm; and sisters, Bertie, Ida, Mary and Elsie.
Susan was a member of the Baptist Church in Slate Mills and had worked at Ross County Community Action and Ross County Head Start.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2024 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Bruce Viar officiating. Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday.

Condolences to Susie's family by her passing. I worked with Susie at Head Start for 10 years. She was always cheerful, and loved the children very much. She was also very kind, and a hard worker. Her hugs, and smiles will be missed.
