Celebration of Life for Susan Lynn O'Neil, 66, will take place at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Balaton, MN on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m with a public visitation beginning an hour prior. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery following the service.
Susan Lynn O'Neil was born December 20, 1957 in Newton, New Jersey, where she was adopted by John and Ruth Wolf. Susan is the sibling of Sally Tarlo and James Wolf of Downingtown, PA. Susan was known for her adventurous spirit at a young age and passion for The Partridge Family, The Brady Bunch, and Little House of the Prairie. Her particular love of Little House on the Prairie led her to leave the East Coast in 1988 and move to Walnut Grove, MN with her then-husband, Robert O'Neil.
Susan and Rob spent several years in the Walnut Grove community before buying a farm outside of Balaton, MN. Susan loved the farm and quickly acquired goats, chickens, and sheep. She had fond memories of bottle feeding the lambs on the farm and watching the goats eat Rob's cars. Susan and Rob went on to have three children: Sarah Sue O'Neil, Robyn Ruth O'Neil, and Bobbie-Jo Grace O'Neil. Susan adored being a mother more than anything and always talked about her children to anyone who would listen. Susan shared with her children her passion for creating art, owning dogs, and cooking. Friends of Susan would call her "spunky" and "honest." She was fond of her nickname "Suzie" or "Suzie-Q."
Susan passed away in the early hours of December 10, 2024. Susan is preceded in death by both of her parents, John and Ruth Wolf.
Susan is survived by her children Sarah Sue (29), Robyn (27), and Bobbie-Jo (27), along with her siblings, Sally and James, and former husband Rob O'Neil.
Memories of Susan will be forever cherished by her family and friends. This isn't "goodbye," it's just "see you later."
