It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Elizabeth Marschhauser Phillips. Susan was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all.
She was a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S Army Rangers. She served in the United States Army from January 27th, 1979 until April 1999. She led an incredible life with her loving and devoted husband, Michael Phillips, daughter, Kimberly Pappas and step children Mary Phillips, Jay Phillips and Ryan Martin. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren: Anthony Davis, Shyasia, Amaya, Alana, Naomi and Veronica Bruff; Damien, Drevani and Brendan Phillips, Carmelo and Cataleya Martin She is also survived by her sister, Mary Ann Nims and brother, Nicholas Marschhauser. She was predeceased by her infant son, Gregory; her mother, Ann Marschhauser; her father, Nicholas Marschhauser and her brother, Christopher Marschhauser, Grandson Aaron Bruff.
Susan was a two-time nation champion in the Chili American Legion Auxiliary Color Guard. She was a volunteer at the Rochester Elks Lodge and Veteran's Outreach Program. She was an amazing woman, always there for others. Susan was one of a kind. May she finally be at peace. Love you always.
Friends and family may call FRIDAY April 11th from 4-7 at Miller Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc. (3325 Winton Rd. S, Rochester, NY 14623). There will be a gathering at the Elks Lodge #24 (3525 East Henrietta Rd., Henrietta, NY 14467) on Saturday April 12th from 2-7 PM. Interment will take place 1 PM Monday April 14th at Western NY National Cemetery (1254 Indian Falls Rd, Corfu, NY 14036).
