Susan 'Sue' G. Sampson, 76, of Superior, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at her home with her family by her side.
Sue was born on August 12, 1947, the daughter of Alois and Betty (Hudson) Ebmer. She attended school at Denfeld and then moved to Superior and married William 'Bill' Sampson in 1967 and celebrated 54 years of marriage until his death in 2021.
Sue worked at the Duluth News Tribune, did at home babysitting, and worked at Goldfines and the Elbo Room.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alois and Betty; husband, Bill; daughters, Julie LaPorte and Debbie Sampson; and all her husband's siblings.
Sue is survived by her kids, Pam (Tom) Middleton and Ken Sampson; grandkids, Colten (Kristen), Chelsy, Chase, and Conner Middleton, Trenton Sampson, and Thomas Bierd; great-grandchildren, Brian and Ava Sampson; and brother, Dennis (Kathy) Ebmer of Florida.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1st from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19th St., with Very Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as officiant.
Burial will be on Wednesday, April 3rd at 11:00 a.m. in Forest Hill Cemetery, Duluth.
