Susan K. Schnee
November 30, 1949 - April 12, 2024
SIOUX CITY - Susan K. Schnee, 74 of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024 peacefully, comforted by family. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2024 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Chaplain Richard Cogan officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation, with the family present will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Susan was born on November 30, 1949 in Sioux City, Iowa to Charles E. and Avon (Morley) McKnight. She received her education in Sioux City before her marriage to Milo "Rich" Schnee on June 15, 1968 at the Whitfield Methodist Church in Sioux City. With an exception of one year in Mannheim, Germany, while Rich served in the country, Susan was a life-long resident of Sioux City.
Susan worked in retail, and was the final inspector at Pech Optical before her retirement. She enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader, and helped revitalize the PTA at Cooper School in Sioux City. She had hobbies of crocheting, baking, fishing, camping, but found her greatest joy in watching her children play sports.
Susan is survived by her husband Rich of Sioux City; daughter Sonya (Oliver) Kostuch, and their children Amanda (Chris) Narus and Adam (Stephanie) Kostuch; daughter Holly (Brian) Remberg, and their children Jaret (Fiancé Rose) Schnee, Chase Schnee, Reagan Remberg, and Piper Remberg; and son Jason (Katie) Schnee; 11 great-grandchildren; special friends Janice Ballinger Matlack (as close as a cousin or sister), Linda Murkins and Sue (Steve) Struthers, Susie (Gary) Moore, Mary Houghtaling (like a sister), Sissy (Doris) Carter-Weber, the Gillen family of Weinheimer, Germany, and very special friend Anny Houghtaling.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Mike and Shirley Schnee, grandson Jason Schnee, Jr., and her beloved dog of 14 years Sophie.
