Kaplan - A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend Mikel Polson will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Linda LeBlanc Stelly, 74, who passed away on January 6, 2025, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.
For over 30 years, Susan dedicated herself to serving the community as a cherished employee at the Vermilion Parish Library. There, she found great joy in helping patrons and greeting everyone who walked through the doors. Her friendly smile and genuine interest in others made her a beloved figure in the library, and she will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched.
A lifelong avid reader, Susan found joy while reading her books. Outside of the library, she was known for her love of nature, particularly her fascination with hummingbirds and cardinals. She took great pleasure in feeding and watching these beautiful creatures as they graced her flower garden.
Susan was also a proud grandmother, a role she treasured above all. She took immense pride in her four grandchildren and was their most devoted cheerleader in all their endeavors, offering love, guidance, and support at every turn.
Susan's legacy of love, kindness, and community service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan on Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue Thursday from 8:00 AM to 10:45 AM when the procession departs for the church. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Wednesday. The burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Forked Island.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Mire (Stephen) of Forked Island and Mandy Leger (Paul) of Erath; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Mire, Kade Mire, Chloe Leger and Seth Leger; two brothers, Allen LeBlanc of Abbeville and Richard LeBlanc (RoseAnna) of Kaplan.
