Susan Thompson

Susan Diane (Beauchamp) Thompson of Buckley, Wa passed away on September 21, 2024. She was born on August 16, 1940 in Portland, Oregon to James Frederick and Alice (Emery) Beauchamp, and graduated in 1958 from Hudson's Bay High School in Vancouver Wa. She graduated with a teaching degree from the University of Washington in 1962, and it was there she met her husband of 61 years, Robert Thompson.
She was married in 1962 and the couple moved to Buckley Washington. Susan taught languages until the birth of her two children. Later she earned her Master's Degree in Special Education from Western Washington University and worked for 20 years at Rainier State School serving clients with developmental disabilities.
In her retirement, she was a volunteer both at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital and Children's Hospital in Seattle for over 10 years, giving children her time with books, bubbles, songs and activities.
Susan was a member of Buckley Presbyterian Church for 55 years and a member of Creator Lutheran in Bonney Lake for the last 4 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and is survived by her son and daughter, Mark Thompson and Anne-Marie (Kevin) Allpress, three grandchildren, Luke, Becca (Ayala) and Alana Allpress and 4 great-grandchildren.
Throughout her life Susan showed a quiet, friendly and funny personality. She served her Lord in her life and showed her love for Jesus to all she met.
Services will be at Creator Lutheran Church in Bonney Lake on Sunday, Sept. 29th at 12:30.
