Susan M. Tomaszewski

Susan M. Tomaszewski, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, June 29, 2025. The daughter of the late John and Mary (Goulet) Luczak, she was born on November 7, 1966 in Bay City and resided in the area all her life, graduating from Bay City Central High School in 1985. For the last several years, Susan followed her passion and has worked with Liberty Living as a direct care worker at many foster care homes in our community. She approached this role with boundless patience, kindness, and strength, viewing it as a calling rather than a task. Susan absolutely loved her clients and most of all enjoyed taking them on so many outings over the years. In her spare time, she loved traveling to visit her daughters and their cats, or up north. She also enjoyed reading and proudly passed down her love of books to her girls.

But first and foremost, Susan was dedicated to her family, providing unending support, guidance and love. Being a mother to her daughters meant the world to her and she was so proud of them and their accomplishments. Her passing has truly left a void in the hearts of her family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by her.

Susan is survived by her beloved daughters, Ashley (Sean Winters) Tomaszewski of Canton and Nicole Tomaszewski (Sam Sheeran) of Redford, and their father, David Tomaszewski. As the youngest of seven, she is also lovingly remembered by her siblings and their children whom Susan adored as a loving aunt, JoAnn (Robert) Riffelmacher and their children Joe Riffelmacher and John (Andrea) Riffelmacher, Gary Luczak and his children Justin Luczak and Matthew Luczak, Terri Jean Greenleaf and her son Eric (Samantha) Greenleaf, Carol Cater and her children Scott Cater and Shawn Cater, Patricia (Jeff) Dinsmore and their daughter Amanda (John) Pham, and Tim Luczak and his daughter Caci. Susan is also survived by many cousins, dear friends and her fur babies that she loved so much.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony for Susan will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Trahan Funeral Chapel with Fr. Dale Orlik presiding. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Charitable contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
