Susan Leuthard Ziesmer
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan "Sue" Leuthard Ziesmer. Sue passed away on April 27, 2025, at the age of 61 from her lifelong battle with Alpha One Antitrypsin Deficiency which she fought with bravery and grace.
Sue was born with a firecracker personality on July 3, 1963, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to John William and Dorothy "Betty" Leuthard. She spent her early years in Coon Rapids and after graduation from high school, she married the love of her life, Michael Ziesmer. Sue was a loving wife, mother to Jillian and Jonathan, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She loved children and they gravitated to her, so it makes sense that her favorite job was working as a lunch lady at a nearby school to her home in Mound, Minnesota. Sue enjoyed the outdoors and cherished the family times at the motorcycle racetrack; she even rode her own motorcycle and toured many towns in Minnesota, going to the fair with her sister Beth and concerts with her friends. Family meant everything to Sue. She was a thoughtful and dedicated daughter as well as a friend to her siblings. Sue built a vibrant life where she had a large community of friends and family who will miss her warmth, quick wit, caring, and vivacious personality. In this time of mourning let us remember this remarkable woman and may her memory bring a smile to your face and be a blessing to all.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Ziesmer; father, John William Leuthard; brother, Scott Leuthard; and her grandparents, Ken and Alma Monson and Dorothy Ross.
Susan is survived by her mother, Dorothy "Betty" Leuthard; daughter, Jillian Ziesmer Jones (Michael); son, Jonathan Ziesmer; granddaughters, Kara, Cameryn, and Lucy; Brothers, John Leuthard (Patty), Donald Leuthard ( Marleen), Tom Leuthard, Bill Leuthard; Sisters, Lori Leuthard Reid (Randy), and Beth Leuthard Dusenka, nieces, Charlotte, Mary, Cori, Roxanne, and Olivia along with many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation May 9, 2025, 2:00 pm with a Celebration of Sue's Life to follow. Hillside chapel, 2610 19th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55418.
