Susanne Crawford

Susanne Crawford passed away on November 18, 2022. She recently moved from Glendale, Oregon, where she lived for 9 years. She was residing most recently in Sunny Valley, Oregon. She grew up in Mentone, California and attended Redlands High School in California. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Christian Education in 1965 from Simpson College in San Francisco (now Simpson University in Redding, CA).
She was married to Donald Crawford for 58 years. During that time she practiced her teaching and musical skills in numerous kid's ministries and music programs in whatever church she attended. She was a missionary in Peru for 6 years, where two of her children were born. She also taught kindergarten and first grade in Christian schools in Stockton and Manteca, CA.
Her hobbies included keeping beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, and keeping a window of plants in each home she lived. She was a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ which influenced her desire to share the gospel with children. She had a beautiful soprano voice and will be remembered for her duets with her husband. She was an incredible seamstress, often making her own clothes and sometimes clothes for her family. She loved pets and nearly always had cats or dogs. She had a love for reading. In her final years, she became involved in cancer support groups to help manage her own fight with cancer. She was an avid cook and continually looked for healthier food options, long before cancer affected her. Bible study groups and time with family were a priority.
Susanne is survived by her husband and four children, Brian Crawford of Sunny Valley, OR, Daren Crawford of Airdrie, AB, Canada, Christine Iijima of Tokyo, Japan and Kevin Crawford of Westford, MA, their spouses, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her two brothers, David Finfrock and Dan Finfrock, both of Mentone, CA, and Linda Triano of Lucas, TX.
Services will be November 26, 2022 at 2:00 at Wolf Creek Alliance Community Church in Wolf Creek, OR.
