Sarah Susanne "Susie" Tucker Edge

Sarah Susanne "Susie" Tucker Edge was born on April 13, 1948, in eastern Kentucky, the beloved only child of Leora Hall Tucker and Archie R. Tucker. She grew up surrounded by love and encouragement, later graduating from Lakeshore High School in East Point, Georgia, in 1966.

At twenty-four, Susie married the love of her life, Sam Edge. During their 53 years of marriage, the two built a beautiful life together in Newnan, where they raised their family and rooted themselves deeply in their community.

Susie dedicated 25 years to the Coweta County School System, beginning as a teaching assistant at Northside Elementary and later serving as bookkeeper at Arnco-Sargent Elementary. She was known for her kindness, reliability, and the quiet joy she brought to her work and the people around her.

Above all else, Susie lived for her family. Her heart belonged to her children and grandchildren, and nothing made her happier than cheering them on. For years, she could be found in the stands at Newnan baseball games-first watching Sammy, then Andy, and most recently Benjamin. Even during her illness, she proudly supported the 2025 State Championship run, refusing to miss the moments that meant the most to her.

Susie was preceded in death by her loving parents, Leora and Archie Tucker.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Samuel Edge; her sons, Samuel Edge Jr. and Andrew (Ana) Edge; and her cherished grandchildren, Benjamin Tucker Edge and Lanie Kathryn Edge.

Susie's legacy is one of love, steadfastness, and family-an example that will continue to guide the ones she treasured most.

The visitation is Saturday, December 13, 2025, between 10:30 and 12:00 at McKoon Funeral Home. The graveside service is 12:30 pm on Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Roscoe Road.
