Teresa "Suzanne" Morrisett Cardin Was born August 3, 1964, in Guthrie, Oklahoma the daughter of John and Leota (Anderson) Morrisett. She passed away at her home in Exeter, Missouri on July 25, 2024. She was raised in nearby Crescent where she attended and graduated high school in 1983. During her formal years she participated in many school activities including 4-H, FFA, FHA, band, choir and sports. She made several lifetime friends while growing up. She was also an active member of the First Baptist Church of Crescent, which allowed her to attend Falls Creek. She loved this church and often associated her life with it.
After high school she worked different jobs in the area and took classes at Langston University. While working for her parents she met Randy Cardin and they were married in 1994. She picked April 1st as the wedding day because she loved to laugh and make other people laugh. They soon welcomed their daughter Aimee, and their family was complete. They remained in the Crescent area where she started the health center "Tonific" and worked as a teacher's assistant at the grade school.
They moved to San Antonio, Texas in 2004. While there, she loved exploring and spending weekends in the coastal town of Port Aransas. She also attended the University of Texas, San Antonio and earned her bachelor's degree in 2010. She went to work helping people in need as a case manager, specializing with disabled children and the elderly. She excelled at her job. If one of her clients needed help, she was a deft caretaker. She continued working until the first of a series of medical conditions sidelined her career. While in San Antonio they met and fell in love with their second daughter, Emily.
During her life Suzanne enjoyed many activities including fishing, needle work, painting, traveling, more fishing, and cooking. She could put her mind to something and nothing could stop her, while still being the gentlest caretaker. If someone she knew was in need, she helped. This included welcoming them into her home. She rode in a truck with her husband for 10 months straight and loved the opportunity to see so much of the country. She also loved making salsa and jelly, and she partnered with her much loved cousin Carol Mewherter and started selling their products roadside.
In the fall of 2023 Suzanne and Randy moved to Missouri so they could spend more time with their grandchildren. These were the happiest months of her life. She also began making salsa again and selling it at local markets. People enjoyed seeing her and loved her salsa. She will be lovingly missed and always fondly remembered.
Besides her husband of 30 years, she is survived by her mother; two daughters, Aimee Peak and her husband Elliott of Cassville, Missouri and Emily Minor of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Jerry Morrisett and his wife Pam of Crescent, Oklahoma and John Morrisett and his wife Teresa of North Charleston, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Bentleigh, Aspyn and Zane along with many close relatives, whom she loved. She has also left behind many lifetime friends which include Lisa and Mike Curtis, Lorrie Fuxa and Nanci Donaldson.
Preceding her in death were her father, her mother-in-law and her grandparents.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 3, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Crescent, Oklahoma. Pastor Paul Montgomery will conduct the services. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
