After an eight-year struggle with Multiple System Atrophy, Suzanne Hesseltine, 62, of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, surrounded by her husband, father, and stepmother at her bedside.
Suzanne was born on January 27, 1962, in Södertälje, Sweden. Her life was marked by adventure and a deep love for family. After moving to Germany, she met her beloved husband, Dan, in Bad Tölz. The two were married three years later in Berlin, beginning a devoted 36-year marriage. Upon returning to the United States, Suzanne achieved her US citizenship and graduated as valedictorian from Fayetteville State University, where she earned a degree in Visual Arts with a minor in Information Technology.
With a passion for learning, Suzanne joined the University's IT department, contributing her skills to various campus projects. Her commitment to excellence led her to pursue a Project Management Professional certification, further cementing her career in service to her university community.
A true explorer at heart, Suzanne cherished travel and embraced diverse cultures and experiences. She especially enjoyed cruising along the Carolina coastlines and was always ready to embark on her next adventure.
Suzanne will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Dan; her parents, Falk and Gerd Meinking; stepfather, Erik, and stepmother, Lizette; her siblings, Ann Charlotte and husband Ray with their daughter, Nathalie; Yohan and wife Klara with their son, Levi; and Frida and husband Adam with their daughter, Uma.
Her kindness, resilience, and unwavering dedication to family and community will be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
