Suzanne L. (Parker) Jalbert, 78, of Terryville, beloved wife of Edgar G. Jalbert, died on Tuesday (December 9, 2025) surrounded by her family in the comfort of her own home.
Sue was born on January 5, 1947, in Bristol and was the oldest of three children of the late Edward and Dorothy (Dewey) Parker.
She was raised in Bristol before moving to Terryville where she and Edgar resided for the past 30 years. Sue attended South Side School and graduated from Bristol High School Class of 1965. After high school, she went to attend the Hairdressing Academy.
Sue worked as a hairdresser and owned Sue's Hair Studio. She also worked in the Farmington School District for many years from where she retired.
Sue stayed active with walking and yoga. She was a big animal lover and enjoyed traveling and a good cup of coffee. She loved going to her favorite beaches, Rocky Neck and White Sand Beach in Old Lyme. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow.
In addition to her loving husband of 60 years, Sue is survived by three children: Anthony Jalbert and wife, Noemi of Bristol, Craig Jalbert and wife, Nancy of Bristol and Michele DeGiacomo and husband, James of North Haven; two siblings: Kathleen Goodfield of Meriden and Wayne Parker of Bristol; eight grandchildren: Jillian DeGiacomo, Matthew DeGiacomo and wife, Jessica, Timothy Jalbert and wife, Ivanny, SFC David Jalbert, US Army and wife, Allison, Melissa Jalbert, Jessica Morin and husband, Aaron, Nicholas DeGiacomo and Julieanne Jalbert; eight great-grandchildren who were one of her greatest joys of her life and made her so happy in her later years; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (December 13, 2025) at 11 AM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Burial will follow in West Cemetery, 49 Pound St., Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday between 9:30 and 11 AM prior to the service.
