Suzanne Nicolosi Obituary

Suzanne Clark Nicolosi was born on February 17, 1932, to Gladys Clark Arter and John Clarence Arter. She and her older brother, Attorney John Arter Jr. (Jack), grew up in Marion, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother, whom she adored. Suzanne married Paul Stephen Nicolosi in 1953, and together they raised two beautiful daughters, Chantelle Anne Blackburn and Adrienne Darryl Laipple (Jeff).
Suzanne, better known by everyone as Ma Sue, really enjoyed being a social butterfly. She didn't get her driver license until she was around 40, so she had a lot of time to make up for. She enjoyed traveling, taking many trips to Florida, the Cayman Islands, Chicago, Arizona, and Lakeside. She could often be found tearing up the dance floor and roller skating at the local skating rink. She worked many different jobs, including Ethan Allen Furniture, The Shirt Wizard at the Marion Mall, and Marshalls, where she finally decided to "hang it" up at 85 years old. If you were blessed enough to know her, you know she was a firecracker, had a wicked sense of humor, and would never leave the house without her lipstick, jewelry, hanky, and her cigarette case. Most important to Ma Sue were her grandchildren, Allana (Mike) Penry, Bethany Nicolosi, Ashley (Nathan) Grohoske, and Amanda (Joe) Pour. She dearly loved her great-grandchildren, Marlayna, Bella, Macy, Jaxon, Dane, Cort, Khloe, Cameron, Jaxon, Willow, and her great-great-grandchild, Ethan.
Ma Sue had a very special relationship with her niece, whom she adored and admired, Lisa Flaherty. Lisa was so very special to Ma Sue, always visiting and reliving family stories. Ma Sue also adored her family friend Denise Barnhart, who would surprise her with visits, flowers, and new boxes of beautiful hankies.
Ma Sue meant so much to so many, and we will always be grateful for the time we spent loving her.
If anyone would like to make a donation in honor of Ma Sue, she would have wanted you to donate to Lakeside Chautauqua, 217 Walnut Ave., Lakeside, OH 43440. Ma Sue and her brother Jack spent many summers there with their grandparents growing up, and it was her very favorite place on earth.

To know Ma Sue was to know a special person...like a joyful little pixie. We met some 40 years ago...from time to time we would run across each other...and it was if no time had passed. My deepest condolences to all who loved her. RIP Ma Sue - Jonda
